A SERIOUS CHARGE.

* ._ The evidence of the principal witness in a case charging Annie Petersen with having used an instrument for an unlawful purpose, and Edward Reynolds with having supplied the instrument and having counselled its use, was taken at the Hospital yesterday, before Mr. W. G. Riddell, S.M. Chief-Detective Broberg represented the police. Mr. Blair (for Mr. Herdman) represented Petersen, and Mr. Levi (for Mr. Wilford) appeared for Reynolds. The hearing of the caße will be resumed on Thursday.
