The rebels are concentrating at Aguaprieta, their intention apparently being to hold the place against the Federals, and also to use it as' their headquarters for future operations. The Federal forces are combining to the southward, and evidently intend to advance on Aguaprieta. WASHINGTON, 15th April. # A- report from Douglas states that in consequence of complaints of the killing and wounding of American citizens during Thursday's battle at Aguaprieta, President Taft is making representations to the Federal and insurrectionary leaders that they should fight future battles at a greater distance from the frontier. A report has been received^ by the State Department that the British sloop Shear-water landed thirty bluejackets and a Maxim at San "Quentin, in Mexico, to protect the town against a threatened attack by the rebels which, however, did not take place, and the bluejackets were withdrawn. REPORTED JAPANESE ACTIVITY. NEWSPAPER FABRICATIONS. WASHINGTON, 16th April. In the Senate, Senator Lodge declared that the reports of Japanese activity in Mexico inimical to American interests were merely newspaper fabrications. No secret treaty existed between Japan and Mexico.
