TO THE EDITOE. Sir, — Tn my letter of the 11th inek 1 denied certain statements made by one of the aspirants to civic honours, and in reply he has written you, malting further charges and suggestions, which are as misleading and inaccurate as his first statement, so much so as to suggest the aspiration to quixotic honours rather than civic. As it is evidently the doctor's wish to advertise his candidature, I shall not prolong this discussion beyond assuring him that he is committing a grave injustice, and that the contents of his letter, so far as they refer to the local Timber Merchants' Association, are absolutely incorrect. — I am, etc., N.
