It is due hero on Monday, tho 17th inst., by the Main Trunk train. _ Holiday traffic on the railways, particularly over long distances, has been very heavy this Easter. The Main Trunk express from Auckland, which arrived yesterday, consisted of twenty coaches, and the outward traffic on Thursday was almost as heavy. The suburban traffic, however, was not so burdensome, the public, in their holi-day-making, being evidently influenced by the weather. The unsettled conditions also had an appreciable effect on the tram traffic. By steamer it is estimated that on Thursday and Friday about 3500 persons arrived and embarked at Wellington. A motor car coming round the corner from Boulcott-efcreet yesterday morning by some misadventure got out of hand, ran on. to the right footpath in Willisstreet, eventually crashing into a window of Arnold's basket factory.
