TO TUE ELECTORS OF THE CITY OF WELLINGTON. LADIES AND GENTLEMEN,— I solicit your vote and interest as a Candidate for a &eat in the City Council at the coming election", and trust to be favoured with your support. My interests are solely local, and a few of my views in connection ■nith the above are as follow ; — 1. Municipal Control of Fire Brigade, Protecting and Assisting Outlying area. 2. Enquiry Board to Investigate Defects in Tramway System. I know that £600 per annum could be saved in one department alone. 3. Utilisation of Idle Corporation Lands, so that they will be rateproducing. 4. Favour of Public Markets, if proper protection is given to shopkeepers. DON'T FORGET! ONE VOTE FOR LEN. M ( KENZIE, The People's Candidate. WELLINGTON ELECTORS. T SHALL be glad to Bubmit soon a •*• Platform which, I hope, will secure your support for me on tht 26th April. Yours faithfully, J. E. JENKINSON. MUNICIPAL ELECTION. T ADIES AND GENTLEMEN,— At the JLi request of a large number of ratepayers, I have pleasure in offering myself for re-election. Yours faithfully, W. J. THOMPSON. MUNICIPAL ELECTION. TO THE ELECTORS: T ADIES AND GENTLEMEN,- "-^ The following Platform is submitted for your careful consideration: — 1. That an investigation be made into tho administration of our various Municipal enterprises. 2. That more expedition be displayed in ( connection with the widoning of Willis and Manners-streets. The reason inoro accidents do not occur there is only due to the careful manner in which tho tramway employees carry out their duties under most difficult conditions. 3. I should advocate some improved manner of carting household refuse to the Destructor. Tho orescnt system is quite out of date. 4. Further consideration as to whether our Water Supply might not be greatly improved, as regards Filtration. 5. Improved methods for handling and distributing our milk Bupply. 6. Extension of Woodblocking in the principal thoroughfares, for economical reasons. 7. A thorough -"nvestigation of Tramway matters, from a financial, managerial, and oxten&ional standpoint. I strongly advocate tho extension of the lino from Constable-street «.o Kilbirnie, the speedy completion of the Charlottestreet connection, and the early consideration of shortening the route to Karori via Sydney-street, as I consider these — apart from their urgency — as payable propositions, and would not materially inorcaso working expenses. 8. A continuation of present progressive policy in connection with our Public Reserves, Parks, Recreation Grounds, Museums, and Libraries; and 1 think further encouragement should be given to our Zoological Societies, by providing suitable habitats for tho various animals and birds which they supply from time to time. 9. That in the interest of public health and convenience wherever possible blind streets should be opened and connected with adjacent streets. 10. I would support all measures which in my opinion were for tho good of the people as a whole, and not likely to lead to financial loss. If you think this is a sound Platform, then you will no doubt VOTE FOR JOHN CASTLE, The Impartial Candidate. TO HOUSE-OWNERS !
