DROWNED WHILE BATHING.
fBT TELEQB.APH — PRESS ASSOCIATION.} AUCKLAND, This Day." Arthur Ryan, a settler, was drowned while bathing at Luke's beach, in the Tamaki River ( Otahuhu), y-esterday afternoon. Ryan, who was about fifty years of age, was staying with his wife at the residence of Dr! R.owley, his brother-in-law. At 3 o'clock in the afternoon he eet ont for a bailie. As he did not return when he was expected his relatives became anxious, and on in- * stituting a search discovered his clothes in a bathing hut at 7 o'clock in the evening. The police found Puyan's body two hours later on the beacli, the tide having receded. Deceased was known to be a good swimmer, aaid it is surmised his death resulted through cramp.
