" Tho Frozen Meat Trade Association's BmithGeld market quotations for tho undermentioned classes of frozen meat are based on actual sales of not less than one hundred carcasses of mutton or lamb, or twenty-five quarters of beef of fair average quality. The quotations are not for selected lines, but for parcels fairly representative of the bulk of tho shipments now on the market. Tho prices which follow are on. an average per lb more than tho value ex ship, this difference representing an average cost in expenses, handling, conveyance, and selling the meat. Now Zealand Sheep. — Canterbury and Southland, unquoted; North Island, 3d; best brands, 3ad. Now Zealand Lambs. — Canterbury, unquoted; Southland, 4 9-16 d. New Zealand Beef.— Fores, 2 5-16 d; hinds, 4d. Australian Sheep. — light, 2 11-16 d; ewes, 2fd. Australian Lamb. — Best brands, 3|d; fair quality, 3gd; inferior quality, 3|d. Australian Beef. — Fores, 2Jd; hinds, 3|d. South American Sheep. — Light, 3d; heavy, 2 13-16 d; ewes, 2fd. South American Lambs. — First quality, 3|d; second quality, 31d. South American Beef. — Frozen fores, 2|d; hinds, 4d. South American Chilled Beef. — Fores, 3£d; hinds, 4^d] Other moats unchanged. LONDON MARKETS. LONDON, Blh April. New Zealand Hemp. — Tho hemp market is slow and inactive, with quotations unchanged on the week at £20 10s per ton for April-Juno shipments. Kauri Gum. — The amount in stock ib 309 eases. Copra. — There is a good demand for bagged South Sea copra, which is quoted,, for March-April shipment, at £20 12s 6ct per ton, the same as last week, and for April-Juno shipment at £20 10b. Wheat. — An Australian wheat cargo has been sold at 32s 10gd per quarter. Cotton. — The Liverpool quotation for American middling TJpland cotton is 13£ points higher at 7.55£ d per lb. Rubber. — Fine hard PaTa rubber is Id to 2£d cheaper at 5s IOjLcT to 6s per lb. " METAL.S. To-day's quotations are- — ' Silver. — In bars, 24£ d per ounce standard. Copper. — On tho spot, £56 5s per ton; at three months, £54 16s 3d. American stocks of copper total 162,008,0001b. Tin.— On tho spot, £194 per ton; at three months, £189 ss. / • BREADSTUFFS.
