A HURRICANE. IN THE GILBERT GROUP. DAMAGE TO PLANTATIONS. By Telecraph.— Frees Association.— Copyright, (Received April 8, 8.45 a.m.) i SYDNEY, This Day. A hurricane in the Gilbert Group on 27th March, swept the islands of Nanouti and Taputeuwea (or Drummond), causing widespread devastation in the cocoanut plantations. Native villages were destroyed and ■ several natives killed.
