THE HUGH WARD RECEPTION.
Much interest «ds 'beingr taken m -th« reception by the citizens of Wellington to Mr. Hugh Ward, which is to- take plaice in the Town Hall' on, Monday -a-fternoop. The Mayor will preside, and in addition to brief speeches a_a .interesting concert programme has been arranged. The combined theatres orchestra will play two selections, and' songs will be ejung by Miss Mabel Fowler, Mr. E. J. Hill, and Mr. J. F. Carr. The committee will meet Mr. Ward and the members of bis company in the Mayor's room at 4.15 p.m., andi will conduct them to the large hall, where the reception and concert are to be held. Miss Palotta, who is making her last appearance in New Zealand for somo considerable time— «he leaves for Vienna on a twelve-months' holiday and visit to her mother— is to be presented l with a bouquet tied with the Austrian colours (black and yellow). There u> to be no charge for admission, to tlia concert and reception, and all admirers of the generosity of Mr. Ward and th« members of his company in connection ' with the Children's Hospital will be welcomed. The afternoon s proceedings should be interesting.
