INDUSTRIAL TRAINING CONFERENCE.
"' NATIONAL SYSTEM RECOM- " MENDED. By Telegraph.— Press' Association.— Copyright. LONDON, -Ist March. The Lord Mayor of London (Sir T. Vezey Strong) to-day opened the Industrial Training Conference at Guildhall. The King, Mr. Asquith, and Mr. Balfour sent letters expressing their hearty support oi ths movement, and Lord Brassey, Lord Hugh Cecil, and others | spoke. It was resolved to recommend the passing of legislation to establish at the expence of the State a national system of industrial, professional, and commercial training free to all scholars, with the object of preparing them for entry into the pursuits for which they are best fitted. A National Industrial Education League was formed.
