The steamer Rimutaka, which wajs to take the first shipment of frozen meat from Tokomaru, was unable to work there owing to bad weather, and proceeded to Nelson. ' DEPARTURE OF BVERTON GRANGE. The Everton Grange sailed at 5 p.m. yesterday for Wanganui. Thence she proceeds to Picton and other Homeward-loading ports, finally departing for England from Lyttelton on 22nd March. N.D. AND L. Grosser Kurfurst, 13,182 tons, arrived at Fremantle on the 28th February, and has the following passengers for New Zealand :— Metdames G. Under the auspices of the U.S. and A.S. Line the steamer Parthenia, 5160 tons, is to load at New York for Melbourne, Sydney, and New Zealand. She is expected to leave New York about the 15th inst. CLAN MENZIES TO LOAD FOR LONDON. Upon the completion of the discharge of> the Wellington portion of her cargo of jarrah on Saturday the Scales chartered steamer Clan Menzies will sail for Westport. After bunkering there she will proceed to Lyttelton with the balance of the jarrah. Subsequently she will load at Timaru, Wellington, and Auckland under the auspices of Mr. G. H. Scales. Her departure from the northern port for London and Glasgow is fixed for about the 20th inst. The overhaul of the Waihi is now completed. To-morrbw the vessel will take up the Blenheim's running. At midnight to-day the Defender sails for Picton, Greymouth, and Hokitika. Cabled advice has been received that the Rangatira arrived at Melbourne on Tuesday from England, and left for Sydney the same day. bhe is not bringing any passengers for New Zealand. Passengers for London by the Kaipara., which leaves Lyttelton to-morrow /or Wellington and finally sails from the latter port on Monday, are as follow: — From Invei cai gill : Mi", and Mrs. J. H. Her loading at Waitara completed, the New Zealand Shipping Company's chartered steamer Durham will leave there to-day. Home loading will -then be continued at her other New Zealand ports of call. ' The barque jVfargit, 1163 tons, has been chartered to load general cargo at Liverpool for New Zealand. Another charter announced is that of the Norwegian, vessel landstol, which is to load white pine at Tekopuiu for Sydney. The Victoria, for Napier, Gisborne, and Auckland, will leave port this evening at 5 o'clock, not 4 p.m., as. previously advertised. Due at Wellington on Friday morning from Waitara the Tainai will sail again on her return trip the same evening. According to the Auckland Star, when the weather moderates the new scow Caed Mille Failthe, which was recently built by Mr. G. T. Niceo 1 for a Wellington firm, will leave for the Great Barrier to load sawn timber for Auckland. Mr. R. W. Farmer has taken up the position of third officer on the Mapourika in place of Mr. H, E. Rutter. While at Greymouth on Friday Mr A. R. Stewart, chief officer of the Waipori, and Mr. F. Barron, chief of the Kaiapoi, effected an. exchange of positions. The balance of her cargo of fruit from Suva is being brought on to Wellington from Auckland by the Island trader Navua. She left Auckland at 8.30 p.m. on Tuesday, and is due here to-night. On Friday she departs for Westport.
