When in Vancouver recently Mr. Andrew Gray, of Wellington, saw New Zealand butter from "Cambridge, Waikato, selling at 40 cents.. Is 8d per lb. •An inferior local butter was selling at 45 cents per lb. Mr. Gray found that there was a very keen interest taken in New Zealand meat and butter by merchants in Vancouver and other parts of British Columbia. He spent four months in the States and in Western Canada. From Mr. Middleton,.a director of tho Vancouver Cold Storage Company, he learned that New Zealand butter was confused in the British Columbian mind with Australian. As a good deal of inferior Australian had found its way to Vancouver it had prejudiced the sale of the New Zealand article, the quality of which was unexceptionable. Messrs. W. H. Morrah and Co. will hold a clearing sale of all goods in their * «jHitjp v roQm afternoon..
