SPORTS MEETING POSTPONED.
Owing to the state of the weather the amateur sports meeting, to have been held to-day under the aubpices of tho Port Nicholson A.A. Club, was postponed.
An elderly woman named Mrs. Davis, residing at 37, Normanby-street, was admitted to the Hospital to-day suffering from a fiactured hip. Yesterday whilewalking round the house sue fell heavily. Jurors summoned to attend at the Supreme Court ou Monday next will not be required till Wednesday, at 11 a.m. A telegram from Queenstown states that the Press' Association completed its business to-day. Mr. H. Brett; Auckland Star, was elected chairman, in succession to Mr. G. Fenwiek, to whom a hearty vote of thanks was' given for his services during -two heavy years. The lowest tender for the erection of the two floor additions in brick to the Girls- College in Pipi tea-street in accordance with the plans and specifications of Messrs. Penty and Lawrence is that of Messrs. Trevor Bros.. Ltd. The amount is a little over £4000. Messrs. Stamford ami Bennett notifj' in our advertising columns that they have opened a ladies' toilet fcaloon in Barber's Buildings, 123, Cuba-street. *
