A # cyclonic area centred to the north-west of the North Cape has accounted for heavy rain in many paits of the Noith Island, and particularly heavy rain fell northward of New Plymouth and Napier last night. Bain is still reported this morning throughout the North Island and in the northern districts of the South. Heavy gales are being experienced ,in many parts of the coastal districts northward of East Cape, and heavy seas aie reported in these parts. Unsettled ar.d cloudy weather has extended over the -whole of the Domin;on. Easterly and northerly winds have prevailed over the North Island, but veered to southerly early this morning over most of 'the South Island.
