\3X TELEGRAPH — PRESS ASSOCIATION.] CHRISTCHURQH, 12th Feb. Fine weather was experienced for the conclusion of the eighth round of the senior grade matches yesterday. The wickets wefe fast, and the outfields were good. Sydenham, the leading team, beat Riccarton by 42 runs on the first innings, after an exciting game. Watson played excellently for 51, whilst Bruges (46) contributed materially to Sydenham's win. St. Albans, after scoring 372 for six wickets, declared, and then got East Christchurch out for 168, thus winning by an innings and 99 runs. For tho winners, Sandman played a not-out innings of 131, made by beautiful cricket, whilst Dr. O'Brien got within five of the century, also by splendid batting. For East Christchurch, Wilsteed (not out) in th& second innings was top scorer with 43. Linwood beat West Christchurch by 103 runs on the first innings, West being disposed of for 166. H. B. Lusk made 81 by chanceless cricket. Linwood, in the second innings, scored 189 for five wickets, Perrin 53, and A. E. Ridley 44, being the top scorers. AUCKLAND, 12th February. The eighth round of the Auckland Cricket Association's district championship matches was commenced yesterday in fine weather. In the senior grade, Parnell, playing against University, made 309 (Andrea© 68, A. Jones 63, and Anthony 61). Graham took five wickets for 47 runs. Grafton, against Eden, made 309 (E. Horspool 81, D. Hay 73, and F. R. Mason 60). In the PonsonbyNorth Shore match the former made 134 (Pearson 53). A. M. Howden t6bK five wickets for 33 runs, and Dr. Howden four for 46. North Shore made 121 for eight wickets (Bush 40 and Hadden 28). DUNEDIN, 12th February. Senior cricket matches were continued yesterday afternoon. In the match Dunedin v. Carisbrook A, the latter continued their first innings, compiling 294 (oiedeoerg 72, Alloo 52, Barron 49, Adams 46, and Rutherford 34). Dunedin in their second innings made 152. Carisbrook A secure a four point win. In the match Grange v. Carisbrook B, the latter, continuing their first innings, secured 155, and thus get a two-point win. Albion and Opoho continued their match. The latter carried their previous Saturday's score of 73 for two wickets to 300 for seven wickets, when the innings was declared closed (Eckhoff 106, Kenny 91). Albion had lost six wickets for 28 when, play ceased. Opohq secure a four point win.
