PROHIBITION CAMPAIGN.
WANGANUI, 12th February. The New Zealand Alliance opened a Local Option and National Prohibition campaign this afternoon, when Messrs T- E. Taylor and C. H. Poole, M.P.'s, delivered addresses to a large audience of men at the Opera House. The chairman, in his opening remarks, said Wanganui had been chosen as the scene of the first shot in what would be the most momentous campaign in the history of New Zealand. A large meeting washeld in the evening.
