A move uL-nt has been started to' recognise the heroic conduct of Messrs Baker and Claiken m connection with the drowning fatality at Coogee. Both already hold medals for lifesaving. Mr. darken holds the New Zealand Humane Society's silver medal, and Mr. Baker is. credited with at least a hundred rescues. Mr. Hugh Ward, besides heading the fund with £50, intends to organise a monster athletic cai nival.
