RAILWAYS DEPARTMENT.
«. . IMPORTANT CHANGE AT WELLINGTON STATIONS. Several changes in the Traffic Branch cf the Railways Department are announced. Mr.'Aickin, stationmaster at Wellington^ has letired on superannuation aa medically unfit. Mr. A. E. Pollock, for many years istationmaster at Thorndon (formerly the Manawatu Station) is under transfer to a similar position at Hastings^ — on his own application, on the grounds of illhealth. It has been decided that one stationmaster shall bo appointed to control the traffic at both the Wellington main stations (Lambton and Thorndon). That position is to be filled by Mr. J. J. Macdonald, now chief clerk in the Traffic Department at Invercargill. - Mr. Macdonald will be succeeded at Invercargill by Mr. W. P. Williams, at present Audit Inspector for the Auckland district.
