Water is gaining by leakage in No. 2 hold of the steamer, Eastern, aground on the Salamander Bank, at the rate of sin an hour. UNSUCCESSFUL ATTEMPTS AT REFLOATING. CARGO THROWN OVERBOARD. (Received January 31, 11.45 a.m.^ BRISBANE, This Day. Further attempts to float the Eastern have been unsuccessful. Large quantities of rice, oil, and 1 other cargo have been thrown over- ' board to lighten the vessel.
