PROCURATION FEE CLAIMED.

In the MagistLate's Court John Bateman Harcouit and Charles James Stanton. Harcourt, land agents, sued E. M. Dunlop and Jamea Charles Dunlop, trading as Dunlop and Co., agents, of Auckland, to recover the sum of £80 ss, procuration tee on a loan of £7500, obtained at the rate of 55 { 2 per cent. In the alternative plaintiffs claimed £80 *5s | as damages for breach of warranty. Mr. Peacock appeared for the plaintiffs and Mt. Blair for defendants, whose evidence ; had been taken, at Auckland. Tho matter in dispute was the rate at which the loan, had been raised, defendants , contending that the interest was to be 5 per cent. A rather peculiar thing happened last week in connection with a small liock of lambs sent in to be killed for freezing (reports a South Canterbury exchange). There were 159 of them in all, and while 81 were sent to the Smithiield works., the remaining 78 were sent to the Pareora works. Of those Eent to Smithfield 13 were put aside as unsuitable for export, while of those sent to Pareora not one was condemned. The owner at first thought there must ha\e been a mistake somewheie. as the lambs were all one line, and had only been divided in a haphazard way befoio killing; but a- caieful inspection showed that no mi&tako had occurred, and the fact that all those which had a touch ot disease had gone to one plt>ce was accounted for through these lambs having lagged behind those v hich wcie healthy and strong, and were conseguentlj all put into the eame^.truck.,
