UNSETTLED WEATHER.

This morning tlie two ends of Kew j Zealand 1 and the West Coast of the' South Island caught some rain^, and between the extremes the skies were dry, though threatening at some points. Yesterday's ■ warmth here has been lollowed to-day irith an instalment of coolness from the i south, and clouds of doubtful hue lum- i bered up this afternoon. The Meteoro- ' logical Office predicts a continuance of changeable weather, with a probability of rain in most parts of the country.

Yesterday the members of the John- j Donviile Rifles, who are in camp for their annual- training, attended a Gpecial serj vice at the local Wesleyan Church. An ! appropriate programme was arranged to j i give the service a military air. The Rev. j A. B. Chappell preached an excellent sermon, which was appreciated.
