In regard to the resentment felt in South Africa at the reprieve of a native sentenced to death for assaulting a white woman, the Bulawayo correspondent of the Daily Mail reports that popular anger was accentuated by the publication of Lord Gladstone's private letter to a Rhodesian official stating that it was time the Rhodesian women learned to 1 lock their doors and windows at .night.
