PRIVATE ADVICES. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd., have received the following cablegram from its London house, under date 19th. inst. : — "Wool. — The sales progress rii-mly, but there is little American demand for crossbred wool." The political dis'tuibances in the island resulted in the mob wrecking several business places and newspaper offices. The rioters were dispersed without recourse to arms, but two fatalities are reported. The excitement is now increasing. DECLARATION OF LONDON. FURTHER PROTESTS. The Daily Mail publishes a leading article and two columns of special news in support of the Commonwealth's protect against the Declaration of London. The Swansea Chamber of Commerce has carried a resolution of protest against the Declaration of London. The Chamber of Shipping, representing nine-tenths of British shipping, will shortly discuss condemnatory resolutions. Already several individual chambers have protested against or refused to approve the Declaration. STORM IN THE CASPIAN. BATOUM FLOODED. By Telegraph.— Press Association.— Copyright. A heavy s'tovru in the Caspian Sea undermined an embankment at Batoum, causing a Hood, which invaded the High School and threatened the prison, necessitating the removal cf the convicts to a place of safety.
