The current programme of pictures was presented for the last time at ll is Majesty's Theatre last evening. To-night thsre will be pn entire change. By special arrangement with the Duke of Portland Messrs. Fullers have secured a picture of old Caibme, the Now Zealand bred champion, who is admitted to be one of the greatest racehorses that ever graced the turl. ' 4 0Id Jack," as he was familiaily called, is se«i at exercise in his loose box, where he is spending his last days on the Duke's Welbeck estate. In the ordinary course of things the grand old hero cannot livo much longer, and it is particularly appropriate that the pictuie should be shown at a time when sportsmen from all parts of tho Dominion are congregated here. Other pictures are, "She Stoops to Conquer," a powerful drama by the Tanhauser Co. ; "The Opening of the Prince Albert Yachting Club," in which some fi«6 views are given of th© numerous yachts in Sydney harbour ; "The f Stolen Father," one of Edison's latest * dramatic sensations; "Vengeance of the Dead," "Boys' Life in the Duke of York School," "Canoe Trip on the River Ontario, Canada," "Daddy's Double." "Curing a Masher," "When Woman Joins the Force," "Jar of Cranberry Sauce," "Lunatic at Large." This programme will be shewn till Saturday, when , a matinee will be given. THE KING'S THEATRE. There was an excellent attendance at lhe King's Theatro last evening, when the week's programme was repeated. One of the best pictures in the list is "The Kentucky Pioneer." The programme will be repeated to-night. On Saturday there \vi\\ be the usual matinee. STAR PICTURES. There is an excellent programme of pictures at St. Thomas's Hall, Nowtown, and the hail is filled nightly. There was a numerous audience at the Eastbourne Presbyterian Church on Tuesday evening, when a concert was held in aid of the choir fund. The choir, under Mr. P. G. Palmer, sang two glees in excellent style; Miss M. | Baimatyne and Mr. Palmer played a duet on the piano and organ ; and an instrumental trio was contributed by I Mr. H. M'Farlane ('cello), Miss M. Bannatyne (piano), and Mr. Palmer (organ). Mr. M'Fnrlane also played a 'cello solo, and songs and recitctions were given by Mrs. M'Kinnor, Miss N. Allan, Mr. J. B. Finlay, and Mr. Hugh Wright. Miss M. Bannatyne played the accompaniments. Mr. James T. Muir. director of Mdlle. Dolores's New Zealand tour, returned to Wellington this morning from a business visit to the West Coast. The gifted singer will arrive here from Sydney next Wednesday, and will open her New Zealand season at liwercargill on 6th February. The Wellington dates aro 20th. 2lst, and 23rd March, at the Opera House.
