Wade, ex-Premier of New South Wales leaves in the Marama this evening for a tour? in the Cold Lake country. The Eight Hon. G, W. Palmer, P.C., and Mrs.. Palmer, will arrive at the Bluff on Monday next from London, via Melbourne. Mr. Palmer is associated with the great biscuit firm of Huntley and Palmer, Reading. Mr. Palmer was Mayor oi' Reading in 1888-9, and Liberal M.P. for tho same borough, from 1898 to 1904. The Palmers _of Reading are one of tho oldest Society of Friends families in England. Mr. Martin Kilgour, Assistant Land Transfer Registrar in Wellington, wilt retire on superannuation on the 6th April next, but will cease active dutj^ next Saturday week, as he has been granted three months' leave. Mr. Kilgour joined the department when it was established forty-four years ago. He is the eldest son of tho late Dr. James Kilgour, for some years Mayor of tho Thames. The funeral of the late Constabla Scully, orderly at the Christ ehruch Magistrate's Court, took place yesterday, (sa>s a Press Association telegram). Requiem mass was solemnised at 9 a.m in! the Roman Catholic Cathedral by tho Rev. Dr. Kennedy, who also conducted the service in the afternoon. The interment took place in the Linwood cemetery, the body being followed to its last resting -place by a full muster of de« ceased 's tellow-members of the service.
