HATAITAI. The new Hataitai Club was successfully opened for play on Saturday by the president (Mr. J. W. Kinniburgh), who welcomed the large number of visitors, players, and onlookers to tho new club's green. It was sown in grass, he said, on the day that the earth was enveloped in Halley's comet, and the grass had made splendid progress ever since. Accordingly the club had adopted the comet as its badge. Mr. Kinniburgh cheerfully acknowledged the liold given by brother bowlers and many other friends, both ladies and gentlemen. Mrs. Kinniburgh then sent the jack across .the green and play began forthwith.
