TERRITORIALS IN CAMP.

Christchurch Territorials are now in camp for a week, 400 men of the infantry battalions being under canvas, A-hile the Artillery. Engineers, and Cyclist Companies have separate camps, lvaiapoi and Rangiora Companies are also undergoing training in their own localities. Lyttelton Garrison Artillery are in camp at Fort Jervois, and in connection with this camp difficulty -has arisen regarding big gun 'practice. It is reported that when the Australasian ■Squadron was last, in Lyttelton Har hour tho Admiral refused to sanction firing practice from the Port, but as the ships departed before the conclusion ot the camp tho volunteers were able to carry out their programme. This year the NavaiS will probably have to* go into camp for a few days later on to do-.firing, tho officer commanding the district having issued an order that no big gun firing was to be done while the warships were in port.
