HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES. ORDER OF BUSINESS. GAMING, LICENSING, AND LAND BILL. The House of Representatives met at 2.30 this afternoon. « Mr. T. E. Taylor gave- notice to ask the , Minister of Railways whethejr he would extend the period for the issue of holiday excursion tickets. Mr. Taylor also asked whether it was- proposed to introduce legislation this session to secure a universal Saturday half-holi-day. The Lands Committee recommended' that the Scenery Preservation Aniend.ment Bill should be allowed to protoeed. A SIGN OF THE END. "As this is the-sev-enty-oighth day of the session," annonneedsthe!Speafcertbis^ afternoon, "I am^jßsfcified in concluding;* 'that w© are nearly "approaching the ter.mination." Members'! H«ar r hea3r. The Hon. A. R. G&inness then < stated ' •-that he proposed' following the usual pro--cedure-of aftowing Bißs-to go through, all >«teges in one day. Mr. Massey began to -ejaculate "Christmas," and Sir Joseph Ward retorted that ,Mr. Massey had "Christmas on the Tarain." The Prime Minister remarked that he- ; boped to table the Public Works Statement next Tuesday. He expected that the Hine Committee -wouM have to sit v for about nine more days. He hoped to get the Gaming Bill through before .■(Thursday. The House should get on to *th&t Bill to-night. He proposed to put. ♦the Licensing Bill as No. 1 on the Order 'Paper for Thursday. "If we get through Jths Licensing Bill on Thursday there is ilno reason -why we should not go on with, the Land Bill on Friday. Messrs. Massey and Fraser expressed a hope that the Government would not -attempt to put important Bills, such as •Oaming, Licensing, and Land, in one day. Sir Joseph Ward answered that he had mo intention of doing anything of the 'kind.
