NATIONAL LIBERAL FEDERATION. CONGRESS AT HULL. RESOLUTIONS PASSED. By Telegraph.— Press Association.- -Copyright. (Received November 8, 1.10 p.m.) LONDON, 7th November. The Council of the National Liberal Federation, in conference at Hull, drafted a resolution affirming that elections should be held on one day ; also resolutions affirming the principle' of the payment of membera and the second ballot. IN THE EVENT OF A CERTAIN CONTINGENCY. IRISH CASTING VOTE., HOW IT MIGHT BE OUT■WEIGHED. LONDON, 7th November. The Times states that if as a result of the Veto Conference the party leaders can jointly recommend the House of Commons to accept proposals for a compromise, it is probable that the support they would receive would outweigh the casting vote of the Irish, with whom the La»bour Party may act. The Daily Chronicle hints tha^ Mr. Asquith is anxious to submit to the Cabinet Council to be held to-morrow a tentative proposal for a settlement by consent, so that he may thereafter be enabled to take a decisive line at the Conferenoe.
