As an. indication of the near approach of the shearing season., shearers have been drifting to the Dominion for the past week or two, and the recent dispute doss net appear to have affected their numbers. Forty-three arrived at the Bluff by the s.s. Moana, from Melbourne and Hobart, to-day, and were booked for Invercargill, Dunedrn, Lyttelton, and Wellington,'. [PBBSS ASSOCIATION.] RAILWAY EMPLOYEES. WESTPORT, 7th Novembsr. At a meeting of the New Zealand Locomotive Engine-drivers', Firemen's, and Cleaners' Association (Westport branch) to-night, the following resolution was passed : — "That members of this branch of E.F.C.A. are determined to fight for recognition and emancipation, and no effort of the A.5.8..5. will ever coerce or induce them to become members of that body." INVERCARGILL, 7th November. At a meeting of the local brancn of the A.S.R.S. for the purpose of protesting against proposed official recognition by the Government of the Locomotive Society, a resolution was carried to the efftcfc that in view of the attitude of the Railway Parliamentary Committee recommending Government lecoguition of the Engine-drivers', Firemen's, and Cleaners' Society, this branch enters ar emphatic protest against such recommendation. NO-LICENSE RALLY. AUCKLAND, 7th November. At a largely-attended No-license rally held to-night (Mr. Wesley Spiagg presiding), the following resolutions were carried :—: — (1) "That the Government be lequested to accede this session to the just demand, for equality voting at the licensing polls by removing the thiee-fifths handicap, and substituting the democratic principle of majority vote." (2) "That in addition to local option, we urge the Government this session to give such legislation as will enable the electors to vote on Dominion option as a distinct and separate issue."
