" Mr. Wade, Leader of the Opposition, says the action taken by Mr. Macdonnell, Chief Secretary, with regard to Sunday trading by shops, makes the opening of hotels on Sundays an easy step. THE EDUCATION POLICY. SYDNEY, 3rd November. Mr. G. S. Jlseeby, Minister for Education and Labour in the State Labour Ministry, in outlining the Government's education ' policy, foreshadowed important developments in secondary education, including the reform of the governing body of the University, ia bring it more into touch with modern requirements. BURSARIES. OPEN TO ALITcOMPETITORS. (Received. November 4, 11 a.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. Mr. Beeby stated that a very large increase in the number of bursaries and scholarships was contemplated. He hoped to throw the university bursaries open to all competitors irrespective of the source of their earlier pducation. PARLIAMENT. TO MEET EARLIER THAN USUAL.
