Sailed— Manuka, for Dunedin and North. 18th October. Arrived— Waipori, from Westport. RUAHINE'S VOYAGE. A report of the voyage of the New Zenland Shipping Company's steamer Ruahine, which arrived from London yesterday, states that the vessel left London on the 2nd September, and Plymouth on the following day. Fine- weather was experienced to Las Palmas, where the vessel bunkered on the Sth September. From the equator to Capetown fresh to strong S.E. trades, with head seas and adverse currents, were encountered. Capetown was reached on the morning of the 23rd September, and after embarking passengers and mails, the next stage of the voyage was entered on the same day. Crossing the Southern Ocean, hieb following seas and showery "Weatner prevailed. 3EEobart> -was reached at 6 a m on the 12th October. Here some 800 tons* of cargo was discharged, and the vessel again put to sea on, the following morning. Fine weather conditions prevailed during the trip across the Tasman Sea. Captain' Greenstreet is in command of the Ruahine, and has the following officers associated with him:— Chief, Mr J. H. Sqaires; second, Mr E. W. Nursey; third, Mr W. T. Point (late of the Kaipara); fourth, Mr H. Burnett; purser, Mr C. R. Searle; surgeon, Dr H Tylford-Howsll ; chief engineer, Mr A. Somerville; second, Mr W. R. Sneddon; third, Mr David Shier (late of the Kaipara); fourth, Mr J S. McCormack; fifth, Mr J. Storm; sixth, Mr J Knowles; chief refrigerating engineer, Mr B. J. Aitken; second, Mr Chas. Massey; electrician, Mr Jas. Kennedy. The vessel will leave port on Saturday for Lyttelton with remainder of her London cargo. The Aorangi, which inaugurates* the new' San Francisco service to-morrow, is commanded by Captain Evans, R.N.R. He has the following officers associated with him :— Chief , Mr G Ferguson; second. Mr Hall; third, Mr Scales. Mr R. A. Ward is in charge of the engineroora department, and Mr Gibson is second; third. Mr Ritson: fourth, Mr Luke; fifth, Mr Dodd; sixth, Mr Hughes; boilermaker Mr Hume. After discharging at Sydney the Holmdale will load coal at Newcastle for Wanganui. She will afterwards proceed to Greymouth to load for Dargaville. The barque Glenshee, 104 days out from Xiverpool, should put in an appearance . here during the week. The sailer was sighted by the Ruahine on Sunday evening last, about 100 miles W.S.W. of Cape Farewell. For Homeward loading the Kaikoura, now at Port Chalmers, proceeds to. Tokomarju Bay on the 4th November. She will afterwards visit Gisborne, Napier, Picton, and Wellington, sailing finally from Wellington for London on the 26th of November. Mr. Cameron, chief officer of the Tarawera, , and Mr Davey, chief of the Kaituna, have exchanged positions. For bunker coal the Cambyses, bound from Newcastle to Valparaiso, arrived in port last evening. She takes in about 200 tons to-day, and will resume her -voyage before nightfall.
