HOURS AT THORNDON BATHS. TO THE EDITOR.
Sir, — With regard to the proposed alter- j ations. in the hours at the Thorndon baths ' to suit the men, I would like to state that the hours of 12 to 2 are the only ones which a great number of girls are able to take advantage of. The mea have tha early morning hours and also the evening hours, and it Je thus evident that girls who go to business, and so have only their luncheon hour in which to have a brief splash, would feel the deprivation '< keenly if the present hours were altered. I am quite sure the late custodian, Mr. : Firth, will bear me out when I say that thirty was the average attendance betwepn 12 and 1 o'clock alone. There are also three girls' schools within easy distance of the baths. I havf seen from twenty to thirty girls at a time in attendance daily irom one echool alone. — I am, etc., THORNDON WORKER. Wellington, loth October, 1910. '
