LODGE MEETINGS.

Court Eobin Hood, No. 4428, A.0.F., held its usual meeting last evening, I Bro. T. Bailey, C.R., presiding. Three new members were initiated into the order. At the close of the meeting a dance was held, the proceeds of which are to be given to the W.F.P. Jubilee Orphanage Fund. There was a good muster of dancers, and a most enjoyable evening was spent by all present.

Messrs. R. Hogg and Farlane were the principal speakers at to-day's midday rally organised by the Socialist Party. The meeting, which was held in the Post Office Square, was devoid of startling incident. One of the matters that the City Council will have before it on Thursday night will be the appointment of a caretaker at Lyall Bay. The Tramways Committee has certainrecommendation* to make in this direction, which will then be made v ■known.
