SWIMMING.

V.M.C.A. CLUB. < t /^? c £ rding c to the annual report of the V.M.C.A. Swimming Club, last season was the most successful since the club's inception in 1904. Outside the carnival events seven races were decided, and the finishes were mostly close and interesting. The club championship was won by J. H. Mawby, who got home in both distances. His time for the 100 yds (68 2-sseo) was the fastest ever put up by a member of the club. Regret is recorded at the loss of J. Wilson, who has left for England. Thanks are extended to the ladies who dispensed toa at tho carnival. In conclusion, the committee looks forward to the coming season with confidence, and present indications are that it will be quite as successful as in former years.
