THE V.M.C.A. CONVENTION.

This morning, at the V.M.C.A contention, Mr. G. Hughes read a paper on the "Efficiency of our Physical Work in the Development of Character," and raised some interesting points. The subject of education was discussed by Mr. A. Jameson. In Australasia, he said, it might not be possible to specialise as was done in America, but what could be done was to study the local conditions. Do not, he counselled, enter into competition with the State schools, but let the V.M.C.A. run education classes for subjects that did not receive attention elsewhere.
