The total quantity of wheat afloat for the United Kingdom is 2,165,000 quarters, and for the Continent 2,685,000 quarters. Atlantic shipments, 125,000 quarters. The total shipments to Europe during the week amounted to 1,675,000 quarters, including 69,000 quarters from Argentina, 785,000 quarters from Russia, 294,000 quarters from the Danubian provinces, 162,000 quarters from India, and 87,000 from Australasia. SILVER. Bar silver is quoted at 24|d per ounce.

Tides.— Good northward of East Cape, and high on all hte western coast and southward of Timaru; moderate elsewhere. Warning signals for westerly gales are exhibited at Cape Maria Van Diemen, Tiritiri, East Cape, Capes Campbell, Farewell Spit, and Foulwind, and at Stephen Island, Nugget Point, and Centre Island.
