The cycle road race from Warrnambool to Melbourne, 151 miles, promoted by the Dunlop Rubber Company, was run yesterday, the placed men being :—: — Piercy, Victoria (47min) ... ... 1 M'Sw-eeney, West Australia (17min) 2 Perrett, New South Wales (4Smin)... 3 The winner's riding time was lOhrs lmin 21sec, while tho fastest time was made by L. Pianto (West Australia), 9hrs 30min 46sec. Won by a length and a half, the third man only a few feet away. Twenty thousand people wTtnessed tha finish. Ihe weather threatened at the start in the morning, and a very strong northerly wind was blowing, but the conditions afterwards improved. Out of the 401 acceptors for the race 355 started. Amongst those scratched were Walsh and Neilsoi>, New Zealanders.
