ACHILLES, by Medallion— Nereid, by Goldsbrough, is a beautifully proportioned chestnut horse, standing slightly over sixteen hands. He won over £9000 in stake money, and that without being "engaged" as two or three-year-old, when ha was practically invincible. He proved himself a champion in each' of the six seasons he raced, retains _all hia courage, and he has probably the cleanest set of legs in New Zealand to« day. BEZONIAN (IMP.) 1. BEZONIAN was a high-class performer in cEnpland. He won the> Kempton Breeders' Foal Plate, 1000 soys (beating Gal.vani), etc. Ran second in the 2000 Guineas to Slieve Galleon in 1.41 4-sth, . third in the Champagne Stakes, Prince of Wales's Stakes, and Eclipse Stakes, and fourth in the Derby to Orby, Woolwinder, and Slievo Galleon (again beat' ing Galvani).
