. l»T TELEGRAPH — SPECIAL TO THS POST.] MASTERTON, This Day. A deputation from South Masterton, 'consisting of Messrs. Edwards, Monro, and Lenz, waited upon St. Matthew's Vestry last night, and asked its assistance in» providing a Sunday school and side church for that part of the district. It was stated that a suitable site was available, and liberal Mipport was promised by the residents towards the building. The vestry expressed sympathy with the movement, and asked the deputaiion to confer with the churchwardens, and send a definite proposal, with plans and estimate of cost Jo the next vestry meeting. Mr. 11. D. Buchanan, the well-known Canterbm-y pastoralist, was a passenger from London by the Athenic to-day. As the rooms- of tho Arts Club have been found not large enough for the guests expected on "visitors' night," it . has been decided to hold the function in the Town Hall concert chamber. Mr. J. B. Reid, of Chvistchurch, who has brought out some valuable blood stock from England, also some grand prize Komneys, arrived by the Athenic to-day. He leaves for Christchurch tonight". Tl-e results of the ballot meeting of the Co-operative House-buying and Provident Association of Wellington held last evening were as follow : — Mr. W. R. Peino. 2 shares ; Mrs. M. 11. Harvey, 2 sharps, Miss E. E. Boxhall, 2 shares ; , Mrs. L. M. Palmer, 4 shares. 3Jr. D. Ziman and Mrs. Ziman and family arrived by the Athenic to-day. They will take up their residence in Wellington. Mr. Ziman was joined at Hobart by Mr. Ernest K. Hall, mining engineer of New South Wales, who will 4oke up a position in the Consolidated Joldfields.
