NO-LICENSE DEMONSTRATION.

The New Zealand Alliance claims that the time has arrived when Parliament should give progressive legislation which will remove all handicap from the vote and allow the majority rather than the minority to rule in both local and Dominion issues. They point out that the vote for No-license has largely increased at each poll since 1894, and that 53 per cent, of the votes cast in 1908 were for that issue, and that majorities were recorded in 60 of the 76 electorates. The demonstration to be held in the Town Hall on Wednesday next is being held that the party may emphasise its demand. The speakers will include Messrs. T. E. Taylor, M.P., A. S. Adams, L. M. Isitt, R. S. Gray, and C. H. Poole, M.P., under the presidency of Mr. Wesley Spragj;.

It requires something of a hero to give .up when, he is wrong, and a good deal of * family- maa.to give, iip when, ho .is right.
