THE SYDNEY BOAT. This week's direct boat from Sydney — the Huddart-Parker steamer Ulimaroa— left Sydney at, 2 p.m. on Saturday. She is bringing 86 saloon and 85 steerage passengers for Now Zealand ports, and has SCO tons of cargo to. discharge at Wellington. RIMUTAKA AT HOBART. The New Zealand Shipping Company's steamer Rimutaka, which left Plymouth on the 11th June for Wellington, via Capetown and Hobart. armed at the last mentioned port on Saturday last. KAIKOURA AT DUNEDJN. Exceptionally fine weather prevailed during the trip of the New Zealand Shipping Company's steamer Kaikoura, which left London on the 7th June, and arrived at Port Chalmers on Friday morning. The vessel brought 430 tons of general cargo for Dunedin. and aIEO has 2000 tons for Timaru, and 60 tons for Lyttelton. Captain A. W. McKellar is in command, and has with him the following officers : — Chief, Mr. Wybrants Olphert ; second, Mr G. E. Fox; third, Mr H. J. Wilde; fourth, Mr D. Crondace; surgeon, Dr T. Wilkin ; engineers: Messrs J. Scott (chief)), J. Reay, A. Barclay, H. Dixon, E. Powell, and C. Youngchief electrician, Mr J. Sparkey. Messrs H. Dix and W. Parker are first and second refrigerating engineers. INDRABARAH LAUNCHED. From the Wallseud shipyard of Messrs Swan, Hunter, and Wigham Richardson, Ltd., there was launched on the Bth June thu twin-screw steel Bteamer Indrabarah, which is being built for the firm of Sir Thomas Roydcn, of Liverpool, managing owner of tha Indra Line, Ltd., of Liverpool. The vessel has a length of 470 ft with 58ft beam, and 43ft depth, and her gross tonnage is about 7000 tons. Three of the holds and the 'tween decks are insulated in order to carry refrigerated cargoes, and there is comfortable accommodation for about a dozen first-class passengers. The twin-screw engines, together with the boilers, are being built at West Hartlepool, and are designed to drive the vessel at a speed of 13 knots. The Indrabarah Is expected to leave London for New Zealand about the 23rd August. THE ARAHURA. Advice received from Greymouth states that tho Arahura, from Wellington, arrived at Greymouth at 0 o'clock this morning, and wril sail on her return trip to Wellington, via Westporb and Nelson, at 10 o'clock to-night. MARERE DUE TO-MORROW. The Tyser steamer Marere, from London, via Australian ports, Auckland, and Napier, is due at Wellington to-morrow morning. The Shaw, Savill, and Albion steamer Kumara, which left London on the 4th June, arrived at Auckland this morning. The vessel is due here about the end of the month. After discharging coal at Wellington the Wakefield, due to-day from Auckland, will proceed to Newcastle. A load of coal will be brought to Wellington on Friday by the Kaitangata, which leaves Westport on Thursday. Captain Fisk, who has been on sick leave, resumed command of the Aorere this morning. Shortly after 11 o'clock this morning the Walmea passed the heads en route to Nelson from Gisborne. Mr E. F. Watson, third officer of the Tarawcra, went ashore at Dunedin for orders, and Mr. Dcnsmore is now third officer of the ; ve-^el. Tho auxiliary schooner Huia got away for i Lyttelton at 2 o'clock this morning. Advice ha 1 ! been received Ibafc the F.H.S. steamer Caldergcove, en route from Liverpool to Auckland, parsed Wilfon's Promontory on Thursday evening. Mr C. S. Broughton, purser of the Pateena, who has been on holiday leavo, has rejoined the vessel, and Mr E. A. Menziea has transferred to the Taviuni. The barque Helen Denny (Captain Holm, junior) left Uokianga on Sunday for Sydney. On Wednesday next the New Zealand Shipping Company's steamer Orari is due at Wellington to complete bunkering. She is to sail for London via Monte Video on Sat- ■ urday, the 30th July.
