SUDDEN DEATHS.
William Johnson, aged about 50 years, complained of feeling unwell while having dinner yesterday, and went out into the yard. He leaned against the fence for a few minutes, and then dropped to the ground. Dr. Mackin was summoned, and Johnson died shortly after his arrival. Deceased was a ship's cook, and resided at 107, Taranaki-street. An inquest was to be held at 3 o'clock this afternoon, at the Morgue. Thomas Lane, a labourer, 46 years of age, living with, his family at 217, Tara-naki-street, died suddenly this morning. The deceased had been ailing for the past three years from an ulcerated stomach, and Dr. Fell attended him up to five months ago. Deceased went to the hospital for two months, was discharged, and this morning was taken suddenly ill. He declined to have a doctor, and died shortly afterwards. An inquest will probably be held to-mor-row. *>
