MORRIS-TUBE SHOOTING.
A match was fired on Friday evening last between teams representing the Wellington Gas Company and Sanders Bros., and resulted in a win for the Gas Company's team by 71 pointe. The following shot best for the winners : — Hawthorne 32, Butler 30, Rowell 30, Aston 30, Hardy 30, Evensen 29, Dodgßon 29, ] Teague 29, Chemside 28 ; and for the j losers Given 31, E. Reid 29, Reid 26. The Karori Rifle Club's weekly sweepstake "e-hoot" took place at the Bucklestreet range on Saturday night, when! Rifleman Aston proved his superiority by hitting tho "bull's-eye" six times out of his seven >&hots. Aperture eights were again used, and proved (by the scores made) to be much superior to the "V" sight. Highest scores: — Aston 34, Bird 34, Marshall, Medhurst, Claridge, Hodder, and France, 33 each ; Black and] Tarr, 32 each ; Rabe, Guise, and Inglis, 31 each,; Gawith, Reed, Jon«&, .and! Hayrnes, 30 each. Leading aggregates: Tarr and France, 191 teach ; ilarshall, 186. A feature of the club's shooting haa been the firing-off of a tie by Pre*ld«n4l Marshall and Rifleman Medhur&t, who have on four occasions made precisely tha sanio score each, viz. : — 31, 28, 33, andl 34 — the "tie" being still undecided.
