WELLINGTON PRESBYTERY.

"LEAKAGE" OF MEMBERS. The Wellington Presbytery met today, the Moderator (Rev. R. Ingles) presiding. Rev. J. &. Eljiott and Rev. J. Gibson SmilJi. wljo yisjted the Wadeftown Church, submitted their report. They stated that the condition of the congregation wa,s satisfactory, and gave indication of much faithful labour on the part of Mr. Rutledge and office-bearers. TJi« books were accurately and admirably kept. Much credit was due to Mr. C. 11. Joplin for his labours as session clerk, secretary to the committee, and superintendent of the Sabbath School. The commission regretted that more of thf) members did not avail themselves of .tho privilege of taking part in the Sr-crament of the Lord's Supper, and trusted that the congregation would loyally hold together and support ordinances, especially, in view of tho fact that the neighbourhood had every prospect of increasing in members and prosperity. Rev. Gibson- 1 Smith reported that Mr. Weir, student, had been appointed to Wadestown on probation. The ending of .the commission was adopted. Rey. G. K. Stowell raised the question o| members and adherents who remove, and thus becoaie lost sight of. X Rev. W. .j. Connie said the matter wa« one of the utmost importance to tho Church. It was probably due largely to members themselves, who did not apply for disjunction certificates, and they became lost to the Ghurch. Rev. Shirer said there was the same "leakage" in the Homo Churches, due to the same cause. Rev. B. Hutson remarked that the matter was .a most serious ,one for the Church. The only way he had of finding out people was by following the furniture vans that came into Brooklyn, and ascertaining if the people moving into the district Were or were not Presbyterians. It was finally resolved to appoint a committee jto draw up an "overture" to the Presbytery on the subject. Thanks were accorded to Rev. W. Suirer and Mr. W- Hoplrirk, and those associated with them, for conducting the recent Sunday School examinations.
