EASTBOURNE BOROUGH COUNCIL.

At the meeting of the Eastbourne Borough Council on Saturday, the Mayor (Mr. H. W. Shortt) presided, and Councillors Eoley, Mackenzie, Organ, Ross, Russell, Sanson, and Wills were also present. A general rate of l£d in the £ on the unimproved values, and a hospital an<| charitable aid rate of nine-sixty-fourths of a penny in the £ on the capital values were approved, and will come up for confirmation ab a later meeting, when a special Joan rate of on unimproved values will also be struck. The Town Clerk was appointed Inspector of Nuisances. Outstanding rates are to be sued for without further notice.
