• Mrs. Blamires, who has worked as a' deaconnoss in English slams., gave a x powerful address at the Central Mission meeting last evening upon "Child Life in the Slums." She referred particularly to children hawking in the streets late at night. Rev. E. O. Blamires. the missioner, who followed, said the Min-u isters' Association had the matter under consideration, and was enquiring into it with a view to ascertaining if there were not a bylaw, in existence to prevent chili dren being on the streets at a late hour at night. He called for an expression of opinion from tho large audience pre-i sent as to whether it approved or di*«, approved of the practice to which hf had referred, and everyone present rose in disapproval of it.
