DUEL BETWEEN BROTHERS.

QUARREL OVER A FLOWER GIRL. All the friendship and fratj nal affection that had existed between h\ o brothers, aged respectively 20 and 22, vanished .in the presence of a charming flower-girl, and, what is worse, their hatred ended in what may be a fatal duel (writes the Paris correspondent oi tho London T-elegi-aph, under date 25fk April). They had been living xogetheiand sharing the ■same rcom until a short time ago, when they happened to fall in love at the same time with the same ,girl. She was only 17 years of age, livmg with her parents, and, of course, had no idea of the terrible rivalry which she had excited, between the two brothers. Two weeks a.go the men separated in mortal hatred for each other. It was their misfortune to meet again accidentally the day before yesterday, and as a result of their quarr-el they challenged one another to a, duel, the weapons being knives. It was to bo no stage duel, cither, and the one or tho other was to be definitely ' disabled from having any more pretensions to the' affections of the flower-girl. They met as they had agreed, and the onslaught was terrible. Finally the younger brother fell down with a deep ' wound in the abdomen. He was carried to a hospital, but there is little hope of saving him. The duel had taken place in, the room which the brothers had shared together before their quarrel, and behind closed door?.
