Vanderbilt (the American financier, whose relaxation is coach-driving to Brighton and elsewhere) won the Olympia coaching Marathon (over seven miles route and back). The team (three) of Belgian officers won King Edward's Cup for jumping. [The coaching Marathon carries as j prizes three cups. Points are awarded on the condition of the horses and the general appearance of the turn-out. King Edward's £500 trophy — for teams of three army officers of any national- I ity — was won by France last year. France, Italy, Spain, Argentina, Canada, Belgium, and the United States were to contest the event this year.]
