RAILWAY SERVANTS.

AMALGAMATION PROPOSALS FAIL. [BY TELEGRAPH — PEESS ASSOCIATION.] CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. The Council of the New Zealand Locomotive Engine Drivers, Firemen, and Cleaners' Association has carried a resolution to the effect that in consequence of the unconstitutional way in which the Amalgamated Society of Railway Servants had dealt with the proposals for the federation of the two bodies in the columns of the official organ, the association withdraws its proposals. The council also decided that any future overtures for amalgamation would have to come from the society.
